Frozen V Sit012 150x150 Frozen V Sit ExerciseThe Frozen V Sit Exercise is an excruciatingly difficult exercise for your abs. This is an advanced and extreme movement so it may take you one or two months to work up to it. The reason it is called “V Sit” is because your body looks like a V. And since this is a static hold, it is called “Frozen.” This is by far one of the most effective exercises you can do for developing tight six pack abs. The longer you can hold it, the tighter and stronger will be your abs, all by just sitting like a V. Sounds like a piece of cake huh? Try it and experience it for your self.

How to do a Frozen V Sit:

Lay on the ground with your arms extended above your head and your knees straight. Raise both your upper body and your lower body up into the air until your body looks like a V. Sit like this until you can’t hold it any longer. It is important to keep your back (spine) straight while doing this exercise. It is also important to keep your knees as straight as you can.

Muscle group worked:

Abs, obliques, low back, hip flexors

Target Repetitions for Muscle Growth: Frozen V Sit Exercise is a static hold

Target Repetitions for Muscle Tone/Endurance: Frozen V Sit Exercise is a static hold

Why the Frozen V Sit works:

The reason why the Frozen V Sit Exercise is so effective is because you are placing your abs in a position where they have to stay contracted while also placing a great deal of strain on them. They have to hold both your upper body and lower body in the same position without moving which is why it is so difficult. And since the move is static, the weight pressure stays on the same muscle fibers which fatigues them more quickly.

Tips:

Keep your knees as straight as you can. This makes the exercise more difficult.

Important!:

Breath slow and steady throughout the movement.
