Frog Pushup

by on 3 Comments

Frog push-up is a unique body weight exercise that strengthens the upper body. Most people have not heard of this exercise but it works just as well as the normal push-up. Try it for a few weeks and you’ll definitely see results. One of the reasons why I like this exercise so much is because it incorporates variety to your workouts. This is super important when you are looking to build strength. Here’s a great article that goes into it in more depth called For Maximum Muscle and Minimum Fat, Your Workouts Must Incorporate Both Variability and Consistency.

How to do a Frog Pushup:

Your hands will be in the normal push-up position put your feet will be closer to your hands then the normal push-up. They should be, depending on your height, about 3 to 4 feet. Your knees will be bent at 90° and the only part of your body that will be moving is your elbows. Lower your upper body down until your nose touches the ground, and then push back up. Again remember to keep your entire body stable except for your arms which is where the movement occurs.

Muscle group worked:

Frog push-up is a bodyweight exercise that works the upper chest, arms, and shoulders tremendously.

Target Repetitions for Muscle Growth:

6-8

Target Repetitions for Muscle Tone/Endurance:

8-12

Why a Frog Pushup works:

The exercise works because being in the frog push-up position puts more focus on your upper chest, arms, and shoulders.

Tips:

Use this exercise when you want to impress your friends and lift your chest. Have you ever heard of man boobs? Well, this exercise will help eliminate them.

Important!:

Breathe in as you lower your body down towards the ground, breathe out as you push away from the ground.

“They should be, depending on your height, about 3 to 4 feet.”
3-4 feet long, tall, apart, away from your arms?

Maybe it means you can only do this exercise if you were born with an abnormality and have 3 or 4 feet, rather than 2 like normal people.
