This exercise is called the grand canyon push-up because your arms will be spread out really far as this you had to push up across a canyon.

How to do a Grand Canyon Pushup:

Get in a normal push-up position with your hands out really far. They should be about twice your shoulder width. The farther your hands go out, the more difficult the exercise. Lower your body towards the ground until your nose touches the ground. Push back up. Repeat.

Muscle group worked:

This exercise places a great amount of emphasis on the outer portions of your chest region. Have you ever wanted a chest that looks ripped? This exercise will help you get.

Target Repetitions for Muscle Growth:

6-8

Target Repetitions for Muscle Tone/Endurance:

8-12

Why a Grand Canyon Pushup works:

The grand canyon push-up works well because your arms will be flaring out. This puts extra strain on the outer portions of your chest.

Tips:

The best tip that I can give you for this exercise is to, over time, extend your hands outward. Once you get really far out you’ll be doing what is called the crucifix push-up. It’s an advanced, no, very advanced move.

Important!:

Breathe in as you lower your body towards the ground, breathe out as you push back up.
