Side Plank Exercise is one of the best exercises for love handles. Love handles are hard to get rid off and take a focused effort in order to reduce them. This exercise is one of the best because it concentrates the exercise on the love handles and oblique muscle groups. Women and men can use this exercise as one of the best options to develop a sleek and sexy waistline.

How to do the Side Plank Exercise:

Place your right elbow on the ground. Position your upper body so it is straight and perpendicular to the ground. Place your other hand on your opposite love handle. Hold this position for as long as you can. Repeat on the other side.

Muscle group worked:

Obliques (love handles)

Target Repetitions for Muscle Growth: static hold

Target Repetitions for Muscle Tone/Endurance: static hold

Why the Side Plank Exercise works:

This is one of the best exercises for love handles because it actually recruits the love handle (oblique muscle) to do the work in holding your body up. The more strain you put on the muscle, the more it has to repair and get stronger.

If you want to recruit even more muscles fibers and work the love handles even more, concentrate on your midsection and focus on tightening up your sides.

Maintain steady breathing throughout the exercise.

“If you want to recruit even more muscles fibers” should be “more muscle fibers”
